AH-GO-GO SHANGHAI! was held on 18th July 2009 to officially welcome 12th SHEN to Shanghai. As the name suggests, it is similar to the concept of an amazing race, where teams were to compete against one another and literally “GO around SHANGHAI” to fulfil their tasks at different pit stops. There were also bonus rounds inserted along the way that seeks to insert perks and fun for the entire race!
To orientate 12th SHEN in Shanghai was the key objective of the whole event, hence exploring varieties of food and getting familiar with the roads and public transport were also part of the plan. From seeking 包to eating huge 汤圆 at 七宝古镇to sourcing out丰裕生煎at Jiang Su Road, Batch 12 also completed exciting tasks with much enthusiasm. Tasks included learning how to speak Shanghainese to strangers, navigating their way at a top tourist attraction - Tian Zi Fang (田子坊), witnessing the spectacular hustle and bustle BuXingJie (步行街) that stretches from People’s Square (人民广场) all the way to Nanjing Dong Lu (南京东路) and such.

AH-GO-GO SHANGHAI! successfully drew to a closure with a finale dinner at FuShen (福申) roadside restaurant and with their eating of traditional Shanghainese dishes, 12th SHEN had become part of the huge family of SHEN “officially”.
