The Rotary Club of Shanghai was first chartered on the 1st October 1919 as club #545, the first Rotary club in China and the second in Asia. The club ceased to operate after the 1949 revolution and was de-chartered by Rotary International in 1952. After meeting for 5 years in "provisional" status, the club was formally re-chartered by Rotary International on 8 February 2006 as an undistricted club #60725 and is now part of a fellowship of more than 30 thousand service clubs around the world. The Rotary Club of Shanghai is our main partner and sponsor for Take One.
