About Us

SHEN is a youth organization established on 9^th August 2004 to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and business interests in Shanghai amongst fellow Singaporeans and students. SHEN’s aim in Shanghai is to spearhead and get involved with projects that raise the level of interest in business and entrepreneurship related topics.

The Shanghai House of Entrepreneurs (SHEN) consists of NUS interns who represent the National University of Singapore, Overseas College (NOC) programme in Shanghai. The NUS students are sent on a one year internship with companies from a vast span of industries, from hospitality, investment, accounting, engineering and more.

Juggling work as well, we enroll in Technopreneur courses jointly organized by NUS and Fudan University as part of our NOC curriculum to inculcate the Entrepreneurial Spirit in us. Our courses are based on exposing different types of marketing, finance and business planning knowledge and skill to prepare us for the great unknown of the future.

By raising the level of interest and buzz of these areas, we want to establish a foothold in Shanghai and contribute as much as we can while on our one-year internship in China. We hope to raise the profile of Singapore, its interns and the good name of NUS. Just as NUS has invested in our internship to make better men and women out of us, we want to contribute back to both the society and nation at large in return!

The SHEN Logo is the old Chinese character for Shanghai. The word SHEN embraces the essence of Shanghai's glorious past and in its updated form with clean bold strokes, it symbolizes the grand ambitions the Chinese people have and the determined measures they will take to make it happen. SHEN hopes to emulate these characteristics and transform ourselves into an internationally recognized organization.
